10 Months Old Already!

Rachel turned 10 months old on Tuesday. I can't believe were only 2 months away from her first birthday! I know I say this every time but I still can't believe how fast the time is going by.

Big things that happened this month: Rachel has her first tooth. It came in the beginning of the month and I'm pretty sure her second one is going to be making it's debut anytime.

She starting to stand a little bit now. We've been working with her and she is now holding herself up at the coffee table, so it's a start at least.

Rachel also loves to lick everything! The other day she was crawling around and she decided to lick my foot, she licks Josh's legs and arms as well. We went to a Chinese Buffet last night and she was licking the table (don't worry I wash it) but still. Whenever she is at my desk with me and I am working on the computer she thinks she needs to lick the monitor. Too cute. What's really cute is when she sees something that she wants to taste and she moves towards it with her tongue sticking out like to the cats' tail.

Rachel has a new play buddy. Josh is apart of a bowling league on Tuesdays and there is a mom there who has a baby boy, Kaedan, who is 5 days older than her. They love playing together. Kaedan spots her the second we walk into the room. I'm glad that there is someone that she can spend some time with. Especially since she isn't apart of a daycare.

That's about it with Rachel. I do have a prayer request for you guys. Josh and I are need of finding a new place to live. Our lease is up in August and the rent is WAY to much for us to sign on for another year. If you would keep us in your prayers that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

9 Months Old & Crawling!

I can't believe that it has already been 9 months since I had my little Rachel. Time is sure going by quicker. She is growing bigger everyday and learning more or more. Right now she is sitting on the desk with me and gabbering away and trying to help me type.

Rachel has finally learned how to crawl! She is the master AT THE aRMY CRAWL (she pressed the Caps Lock) Now instead of staying in one room and playing she is now going all over the place to play. I love the fact that she figured this out, it means more work for me but it also means that she is learning and becoming the big girl that she is supposed to be.

We went over to Ryan and Kati's (my brother and sister-in-law) for a Craw Fish Boil this past weekend and Rachel had a lot of fun dancing with daddy and sitting on Aunt Kati's lap.

Rachel has been talking a lot more. She is saying "mama" and "dada" all the time now. She loves to watch us talk. You can tell that she is trying to figure out how to say something back to us. Today she has been "whispering" to me. She leans in and says something in baby talk very quitely to me, melts me heart. I also have been teaching her how to clap. She gets excited when I clap and then tries to copy it. She almost has it!

Rachel is so obsessed with this little lamb that her Granma Roggasch gave her. She takes it everywhere with her. There really isn't too much to say other then she is growing and growing. Here's to another month.

8 Months Old!

Every month that goes by the more I am amazed at my little girl. She is growing more and more and learning so much at the same time. Rachel is getting heavier, longer, and filling out her outfits a lot more. She is a champ at sitting and it getting more and more adventurous in her rolling around. She is starting to put herself in the crawling position a lot more and gets frustrated when she can't get to where she wants. I have a feeling that she will be crawling all over the place in the next little while.

I love watching Rachel play, she seems to be entertained by anything. She found some old slippers and now they are one of her favorite things to play with now. She also has a favorite stuffed lamb that she got from her Granma Roggasch and has to have it with her all the time. She'll throw a fit if I take it away from her too soon.

Rachel has become so talkative, she says "mama" all the time, she uses it for everything. I still don't know if she knows that I am "mama" but I love hearing her say it. She has a new thing that when she is sitting a playing, if she's super excited, she bang herself against whatever, mainly the couch or me and say "ba" every time she hits. Makes me smile.

I love my little girl. I love watching her grow up and learn.

She has a new fascination of pulling off her socks, I guess she didn't want to wear one. I love watching her sleep, so peaceful. The little sore is from a snack she had. She has started eating the Gerber Puffs and Yogurt Melts really well. I think one got stuck to her wrist and caused a rash, she uses her whole hand to feed herself.

You have to have a good crying picture at least once. She wasn't too happy with me. I think it's cute.

Well, that's about it. Right now she's thoroughly entertained by "Noggin", I think she's going to fall asleep on the couch watching it. Too cute.

My Lil Roo is 7 Months Old

Another month has gone by and I'm still in wonder of how much Rachel has grown in last few weeks. She is rolling all over the place now and starting to get frustrated that she can't go forward to get the toys that she wants. I know that one day soon she will either creeping or crawling and then I'll really have my hands full. Rachel is also sitting up by herself so much better now. She sits and is starting to move around while sitting so she can't get the toys that she wants.

Rachel has figured out that she can yell and she does it all the time now! When she is happy, angry, or playing she is yelling. It's cute for the first couple times but then it just gets old... Oh well, she is finding her voice.

This last week her little personality is really starting to shine through. I used to let her play with my glasses (I know, I know...bad idea) now I won't let her and boy, does she get mad. I'll tell her "no" and she yelled and throws a fit. If Josh or I say "no" to her about anything she throws a fit! She already doesn't like that word. I have a feeling I'm going to have a very stubborn, temper tantrum throwing little girl. I pray to God I don't.

It's fun watching her grow up even with her stubbornness is coming through.

So Proud

Rachel is growing so quickly it’s amazing. Last night while I was giving her a bath she was sitting so well that I let go and she balanced all by herself in a sitting position for a couple minutes. I was so proud. This morning she was playing and sitting on the floor next to me and I let go of her again and she sat by herself! I can’t believe how big she is getting. She can’t get into a sitting position herself but if she is leaning again something, like a pillow, she can. Not only that but she is starting to roll over to new places. She is still a little timid to leave her play mat but when she’s going after something she’ll roll until she gets it. I am so proud of my little girl. Another little thing that she has been doing a lot is blowing raspberries. She does it all the time for minutes straight! I think she likes the sound and feeling.

My Little Big Girl Is 6 Month Old!

I can't believe that it has already been 6 months since I had Rachel. Time is just flying by and Rachel is just getting bigger and bigger. I'm not sure how big she is but we will find out on Wednesday at her 6 month check up. I have a feeling that she is around 16 lbs and 26 or 27 inches long. It seems like she just grew all of a sudden. One day she was in 3-6 month clothes and now she is in 6-9 month clothes.

Along with getting bigger by the minute, Rachel is starting to get a lot smarter too. She is figuring out the art of rolling over, she has rolling from her back to her tummy down and is now figuring out how to flip back over. I know one day soon I will look away for a moment and look back to find her half way across the room. I love watching her play, she has become incredibly grabbing and reaches for everything! I mean everything!

video

Today when she was playing she got a little mad at me and I swear she yelled "mom" three times and knew what she was saying. She has been saying the sounds "ma ma" quite a bit lately and maybe she knows what it means. Rachel has been trying to talk a lot this month. I can't wait until she can say "I love you mommy."

For a while it seemed that she was going back to her old sleeping habits but she is still struggling with it a little bit. I think she really is starting to teeth. I felt her gums the other day and they are starting to feel swollen and it seems that her molars want to come out first but I don't know. I am praying that I will be able to have a steady sleep schedule again...but I don't know if that is going to happen anytime soon.

I am amazed by my little girl everyday, God has indeed blessed me and Josh with a beautiful child. I wouldn't trade being her mommy for anything else in this world. (I would love my sleep back... :]) Thank you God for everything, thank you for blessing me with my wonderful daughter.

Sleepless in Arkansas - 5 Months of Learning

So this month has definitely been a month of learning for Rachel. She has truly grown a lot. Rachel has to have everything, anything that she finds interesting she grabs for it. Sometimes it can be annoying but it's pretty cute. When Josh comes home from work and sits on the couch next to us she will lean over and reach for him. The second he walks into the room she lights up with her adorable smile.

Along with the grabbing she has been learning to eat solid foods, she has rice cereal before her dinner bottle. It's so cute watching her figure it out, she will put her fingers into her mouth and I think it's a way for her to really taste it and decide if she likes it or not. Once she gets the cereal thing down we will be trying veggies! Yay!

The other day Rachel rolled over for real. I had laid her on her back on her activity mat and she was playing with her ladybug pillow that her Great Grandma Roggasch gave her for Christmas. I was playing a video game so I didn't she her do it but I looked over and she was on her tummy, her arms supporting her. Usually when she tries to roll over she gets stuck on her arm that day she didn't. I haven't seen her do it again but that was pretty exciting, I was so happy her I freaked out and kissed her all over! I'm such a mommy.

Ok, so the reason for the title, the sleepless thing. This month has been a really weird sleeping schedule and it's starting to get to me. I was so happy that I was blessed with a baby that slept through the night...well not anymore. She will go to sleep around 830 or 9pm and then wake up at 1am and be awake for 2 or 3 hours then sleep until about 7am. I wouldn't mind being woken up to feed her if it didn't mean that I would be up for a while. If she would fall asleep right afterwards it would be all good but no... I'm wondering if maybe she is teething or a new milestone is coming or what. Or is it just a new sleeping rutine that I need to get used to? Oh well, I hope something happens soon.

Well, that's the news for this month. Thank you for reading.
